THE JAM :

Gene-ius is a game developed in 48h for the Winter 2024 edition of the Wonderjam.

WE GOT FIRST PLACE BABYYYY LET'S GOOOOOOO🍾🎊

The theme was "Genetics" and the three styles we rolled were : 

• Your ally is also your enemy.
• Combine things
• Versus

THE GAME : 

Take control of Gene-nius Inc.'s latest and most intelligent specimen, and have him order around Doofus, the idiot he's been paired with to solve puzzles.

Solve puzzles : 

You'll have to work together to solve puzzles and finish tests. These tests may or may not include : poison gas, jumping over bottomless pits, death lasers, blocked doors, chihuahuas,  even more jumps,  shrinking, having to work with an annoying and stupid creature.

Get New Genetic Upgrades :

To solve the various puzzles, you'll have to find new genetic enhancements and "equip" them (you definitely won't just get killed and reconstructed). You'll also be able to choose who gets which upgrades at the various terminals you'll find along the way.

Work "Together" : 

Doofus isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. If you leave him unattended for too long he'll get distracted and start wandering around. To prevent that you'll need to call him to get his attention to make sure he's listening to the orders you give him. Sometimes he might feel too scared to go to certain places so you'll need to make sure to praise him and fill him with confidence, be carefull however if he starts feeling a little bit too overconfident he might start blindlessly rushing towards dangers.
